About the Role:
Looking for a highly curious, Senior Manager, Data Science to manage a set of Data Scientists across “balance teams” that focus on digital/ecommerce solutions such as Product Recommendation Systems, Product Search, Pricing, and Incentives.
Your team will:
- Leverage machine learning/DL and analytics to turn insights into data products that grow sales and profitability.
- Implement and tune new algorithms and mathematical approaches to solve complex DS problems by working closely with data scientist(s)
- Scale models which read large amounts of data, perform feature engineering, and produce sophisticated models which solve business use cases
- Think in terms of iterative development, document, and communicate throughout products data science lifecycle
- Build and validate models
- Research new ways for modeling and predicting end-user behavior
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience implementing open-source ML libraries (Tensorflow, XGBoost, LightGBM, etc)
- Experience with deployment, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous training of machine learning models
- Experience in model building tools like Maven, Gradle, Jenkins.
- Experience with coding in programming languages including Python, Java, Scala, Spark
- Experience using cloud infrastructure such as GCP, AWS, Azure
- Experience developing custom models based on in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business problems to ensure analytics deliverables meet stakeholders need
- Experience developing state of the art algorithms using machine learning, statistical and optimization methods to power various aspects of highly complex business models
- Experience working directly with cross-functional teams such as leadership, product management, design and engineering
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development
REQUIRED
- 6+ years of progressively complex Data Science or analytics experience
- 2+ years experience managing Data Scientists.
- Relevant PhD + 4 years of industry experience as a Data Scientist OR relevant Master’s and 6 years of industry experience as a Data Scientist
- Advanced Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field
- Spark, Python, R proficiency
